The Weave Academy helps experienced professionals turn the uncertainty of reinvention into the clarity of a purposeful direction. A journey we have made and one that informs everything we do. The programme is primarily online and hosted on The Weave’s learning platform. We will use third-party platforms to host events and aim to hold at least one in-person meetup to get to know you.

AI is changing the landscape of careers. What is possible today was inconceivable only a few years ago. This creates opportunities, but it also can carry high personal, emotional, and economic costs.

To stay afloat, we need to embrace the world of reinvention. To get ahead, we need to reimagine and remake ourselves. A second career requires that we stay connected to what we deeply care about. The legacy of turbulence is that we crave not stability, but meaning and a sense of belonging.

In The Weave, we have been through this journey of transformation. For 15 years, we have delivered innovative, award-winning, practice-led learning to universities, entrepreneurs and ourselves. We have come from established careers in finance, senior management, as well as lecturers and healthcare professionals. Now we are entrepreneurial educators focused on founder development.

This is not about working through bland modules about self-employment; it is an environment for people moving from an established career towards entrepreneurship, independent work or a more purposeful next chapter.

For the journey, you need personal clarity that comes from time spent reconnecting with yourself. A strong network full of strong and weak ties to drive referrals and scour the world for resources. You also need to connect with sources of cash. The Academy is designed around Sophrology, builds entrepreneurial leadership through practice and introduces you to mentors- experienced people all here to help. The learning is not spoon-fed; it’s hard-fought. The curriculum lasts for a year, and that is probably not enough; that is why everyone who goes through the Academy gets life membership to The Weave. Our commitment to you, the founder, is to be here for every stage of this journey.

The Academy is built around a simple truth:

You can expect a welcoming but purposeful practice ground where you are supported, challenged and treated as an experienced adult. The programme is delivered online, and will be hosted on our learning platform. We will use 3rd party technology including Zoom, Airmeet and any other reputable channel. We will also arrange a physical meetup where possible, so we can get to know you, in person. We will provide skilled facilitation, practical education, honest feedback, mentoring, Sophrology-informed founder development and opportunities to test your thinking in the real world. We will respect the confidentiality of what you share, remain transparent about how the programme operates and recognise that the venture—and its decisions—belong to you. You will not be given a formula or promised easy answers. You will be given the structure, relationships and space to discover better answers through practice.
The Academy is a shared experience, not something you simply consume. We ask you to participate fully, test your ideas, reflect honestly and contribute to the development of others as well as your own. That means preparing for sessions, honouring commitments, giving and receiving constructive feedback, respecting confidentiality and asking for support when you need it. You do not need to arrive with certainty or have everything worked out. You do need to bring curiosity, generosity and a willingness to act.
Yes—but you will not be expected to become their consultant or solve their problems. Reciprocity means listening carefully, sharing relevant experience, asking thoughtful questions and offering constructive challenge. We have been delivering programmes like these for over ten years, and one thing we know to be true, your development will contribute to theirs. This exchange of insight, encouragement and accountability is what turns a cohort into a founder community.
It means that everyone learns through a common rhythm of exploration, experimentation and reflection while developing their own venture. Members bring work in progress into the room, examine what happened and help one another decide what to try next. The businesses may be different, but the experience of learning to act under uncertainty is shared. You retain ownership of your business while benefiting from the intelligence, perspective and momentum of the ensemble.

No. In today’s world of living longer, retiring later, age is no hurdle. Also, experience can be a significant entrepreneurial asset. The Academy is built for people who have already accumulated knowledge, relationships and perspective—and now want to use them to create something of their own. You are not starting from nothing; you are starting from experience.
Yes. The Academy is intended to support people with established working and family lives. The year-long format allows you to test and develop your business steadily, rather than feeling pressured to make one dramatic leap. Full participation will still require protected time, curiosity and a willingness to act.
Please check your employment contract to ensure that starting a side hustle does not contravene its terms. If you are unsure, seek legal advice.
Discovering that an idea needs to change is useful progress, not failure. The Academy helps you test assumptions through small, affordable experiments before making larger commitments. You may refine your idea, redirect it or discover a stronger opportunity. The aim is to make decisions from evidence rather than hope alone.
Not directly, but the components of your plan will emerge over the year. In that time you will gain something more useful. We will help you develop the ability to explore, test, decide and act for yourself. You will receive structure, practical tools, mentoring and challenge, but the business and its decisions will remain genuinely yours.

If you are unsure that being a founder is right for you, then we suggest just enrolling in the Personal Clarity phase. 10-weeks of work for just £499 will open up your thinking, and help you to decide.
After the 31st of December 2026 the current full programme price is an one-off annual fee of £3,000 to be paid before the programme begins. You can pay monthly at £300 per month (£3,600 total).
If you are confident that you want to do this, then take advantage of our Early Bird offer. To secure entry and a lower annual price, register and pay £300 before the 31st of Dec. Pay the balance of £2,300 by the 31st of Dec and save £400.
These savings only apply to the annual price.
All prices are inclusive of VAT
We understand that circumstances can change. If you enrol online as a consumer, you will normally have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of entering into the contract and receive a full refund. This 14-day period begins when your booking is accepted, not 14 days before the programme begins.
In addition, if you cancel at least 14 days before the published programme start date, we will refund all programme fees you have paid. If you cancel fewer than 14 days before the programme begins, we will refund your payments less any reasonable costs and losses that The Weave cannot recover as a direct result of your cancellation.
After the programme begins, we will refund fees paid for complete programme months not yet provided, less any reasonable cancellation charge representing costs and losses that The Weave cannot recover. We will take reasonable steps to reduce those losses, including attempting to offer your place to someone else, and we will explain how any deduction has been calculated.
If you pay by instalments, future payments will stop once the cancellation takes effect, although you may still need to pay for services already supplied and any reasonable, unrecoverable loss. We will always consider exceptional circumstances fairly. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
No. You may have one idea, several possibilities or simply a strong desire to create something of your own. The Academy helps you explore what matters to you, identify worthwhile problems and test possible business ideas before committing significant time or money.

The free Founder Capacity Index gives you a developmental snapshot of the capacities you currently draw upon and those you may wish to strengthen. The Academy turns that insight into practice. Your score does not determine whether you can join, and your results will never be used to exclude you.
Yes. Peer learning and community are central to the Academy. You will develop alongside experienced people making similarly significant transitions, providing encouragement, constructive challenge, shared learning and relationships that extend beyond an individual workshop.
No responsible programme can guarantee commercial success. What the Academy provides is a structured way to reduce avoidable uncertainty, test your thinking and develop the capabilities needed to make better entrepreneurial decisions. You should finish with stronger evidence and a clearer basis for building, redirecting or pausing your idea.
The first cohort is planned to begin in April 2027 and run for twelve months.

No. The Academy is a practice ground. You will learn useful business principles, but you will also apply them through conversations, experiments, reflection and real-world testing. The emphasis is on learning through doing—building both the founder and the business together.
The year combines practical business education, Sophrology-informed mindset and leadership development, mentoring, peer learning, real-world experimentation and community support. Each element helps you turn ideas into evidence and evidence into informed action.
Sophrology combines breathing, relaxation, movement and guided mental practice. Within the Academy, it supports self-awareness, emotional steadiness, sustainable performance and leadership under uncertainty. It is not therapy; it is a practical foundation for developing the inner capacity required to lead yourself and a growing business.
You cannot underestimate the power that this gives you in performance and productivity.
That is precisely why the Academy exists. You bring professional judgement, lived experience and transferable skills; we help you apply them in an entrepreneurial setting. You will not be expected to know all the language or arrive already thinking like a founder.
